Last chance to get free Christmas shipping

Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

We are a week away from Christmas, and if you still have gifts to buy, this is your last chance to get them shipped in time.

The National Retail Federation surveyed shoppers this year and found about half plan on wrapping up their online shopping Wednesday, and with good reason.

This is 'free shipping day'. It's the last chance to get free shipping and get what you order in time for Christmas. Nearly 900 retailers participate.

That makes it challenging for those who deliver the packages. The US Post Office is working Sundays to get the job done.

Monday was their busiest mailing day. Thursday is expected to be their busiest shipping day.

The same will be true for UPS and FedEx as the items ordered today go through the process.

See a list of participating retailers.
