INDIANAPOLIS -

Fortunately no one was injured when fire broke out in a home on the south side early Sunday morning.

Indianapolis Fire crews were dispatched about 3:48 a.m. to 5900 S. East Street.

Owner David Straubinger, 72,  told firefighters that he was working in his office in a building behind the residence when he got notified of an ADT alarm drop inside his home. When he walked outside to check, the house was on fire with heavy fire coming from the roof.

Firefighters were met with heavy fire and cold temperatures. Hydrants in the area, although working fine, are spaced few and far between which added time to the length of the layout and supply line establishment.

The house sustained significant damage estimated at about $200,000.

The Straubingers own Straubinger Flutes and the office is located in the rear of the property.

Straubinger's wife was not at home at the time of the fire.

The family will stay with relatives.
