Roads slick as snowfall begins across central Indiana

Road crews are busy preparing for a winter storm that's moving into central Indiana Friday night.

Snow began falling in downtown Indianapolis around 7 p.m. Friday. Counties across the region are reporting slick roads and dangerous driving conditions.

A winter storm warning remains in effect until Saturday evening.

The Indiana Department of Transportation hit the roads early with anti-ice measures. INDOT put brine down on roadways starting at 9:00 am Friday. They'll start putting salt down later Friday evening.

Plow drivers will work through the night and into Saturday to keep the roads clear once the snow starts falling.

Roads will be slick and hazardous - and unforgiving to inattentive drivers.
