Winter weather advisory in effect Friday night - 13 WTHR Indianapolis

Winter weather advisory in effect Friday night

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, which is in effect from 7:00 pm Friday to noon Saturday.

Three to five inches of snow is possible, with roads becoming slippery. Blowing snow may reduce visibility and travel may become difficult.

Heaviest amounts are expected across northern parts of central Indiana while lesser amounts will be expected across southern parts of central Indiana.

Snow will begin on Friday evening across western parts of central Indiana before quickly spreading across all of central Indiana by midnight. Snow will taper off by late Saturday morning.

A winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow- covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
