INDIANAPOLIS -

The wife of an Iraqi war veteran shot to death when he tried to buy an iPad on Craigslist is speaking out for the first time.

In an interview with the Daily Mail online, Jamie Vester says she warned her husband about the deal an hour before he was shot and killed last week.

The shooting happened at the Wyckford Commons Apartment complex near Ben Davis High School.

She told her husband to take a gun, so he borrowed one from a friend.

Jamie told The Daily Mail that Jim's last words were on the phone when he was about to get out of the car to meet the sellers.

He said, ''I'm here. I've got to go. 'I love you.'"

Two teen brothers have been charged with the murder.
