Dangerous cold and more snow ahead - 13 WTHR Indianapolis

Dangerous cold and more snow ahead

By late evening Wednesday, some parts of central Indiana have temperatures in the single digits and wind chills nearing 10 below zero.  The numbers will continue to fall.  We are forecasting lows in the range of -4 to 1 and wind chills -15 to -5.  Please take precautions from the cold.  Due to the cold, there are lots of school delays.  Be sure to tune into Sunrise on channel 13 at 4:30 for the latest on delays and closings for Thursday.  It will be cold all day…13 at noon and highs near 18 degrees.

After the cold, there will be more snow.  We are tracking a still developing snow system for Friday night and Saturday.  Snow will start to fall Friday evening and the steadiest snow will continue to fall through mid-day Saturday.  The early estimation on snowfall potential is 2-4″ south of Indianapolis and perhaps 4″ plus north.  We will be fine tuning the snowfall potential map, as we get the latest information so stay tuned for updates.  Next week starts cold, but temperatures may actually swing above freezing Tuesday and Wednesday.  We still think this colder than average and active weather pattern will last through the end of the year.
