Slippery roads create mess during morning commute

Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

Black ice and slick road conditions contributed to several crashes in the Indianapolis metro area Wednesday morning.

A crash involving up to ten vehicles shut down the northbound lanes of I-65 northbound near County Line Road south of Indianapolis at around 7:00 am. This crash caused major delays for nearly two hours. One minor injury was reported.

The Boone County sheriff issued a travel advisory due to icy bridges on overpasses on I-65 and I-865.

Crashes were also reported during the 7:00 am hour at 75th and Georgetown and also on southbound I-65 at West Street, causing backups.
