INDIANAPOLIS -

A burglary suspect fired a shot early Saturday when police interrupted an attempted home invasion.

Indianapolis Metro Police were dispatched to a townhome in The Private Reserve Luxury Condominium complex on the north side.

Police say a woman heard someone outside messing with the door.  She locked herself in the bedroom and immediately called police.

When IMPD arrived on Suffolk Lane about 2:30 a.m., the burglary suspects fled the scene.

Police set up a perimeter and used K-9 to track the suspects in the area of 79th Street and Harcourt Road, but did not catch the burglars.
