GREENFIELD, Ind. -

Greenfield police say the Hancock County coroner was arrested Friday after a theft investigation.

In a news release, Police Chief John Jester says his officers began the probe last week on Thanksgiving Day.

Jester says an investigation led officers to allege that Jordan Rose, 21, address unknown, Crystel Myers, 30, of Greenfield were involved in a theft from Wal-Mart. Jester said Rose and Myers are believed to have taken two Monster trucks, a PlayStation 3, an Xbox 360, and a Nintendo DS from the retailer.

According to Jester, the items were located and recovered from Crystel Myers' residence.

Jester said Myers is the incumbent Hancock County coroner.

Police have filed reports with the Hancock County Prosecutor, who sought and obtained a special prosecutor from Marion County. The special prosecutor filed theft charges late Friday afternoon.

Myers was arrested at her home on a warrant and was held at the Hancock County Jail pending a $1,000.00 cash bond.
