Former principal arrested in Michigan child porn case

INDIANAPOLIS -

A former Indiana middle school principal was arrested in a multi-state child pornography investigation.

Michael Ettenberger of Indianapolis, who was principal of Frankfort Middle School, and Jill Miller of Clarklake Michigan are accused of participating in online solicitation of child sexually abusive material, prosecutors say. Ettenberger is facing six felony charges in the case, including Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd Degree, Child Sexually Abusive Activity, Using the Internet/Computer to Communicate with Another to Commit a Crime, Solicitation to Commit Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd Degree, Solicitation to Commit Child Sexually Abusive Activity, and Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material.

He was arrested Thursday in Indianapolis and is awaiting extradition to Michigan.

Miller was charged with three felonies and pled guilty to all three last month. Her sentencing is set for January 8.

"Cyber crime involving the sexual exploitation of children presents unique investigation challenges, and multi-jurisdictional cooperation is thus crucial in effective prosecution of such cases," said Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry.

Police in Jackson County, Michigan joined IMPD in the investigation.
