INDIANAPOLIS -

State police say a motorist veered off an interstate highway and into shallow water.

A corporal at the state police post at Indianapolis says he believes the vehicle left I-69 north of 82nd St. at about 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.

He said other motorists stopped to help the woman and assisted her from the wreckage after breaking out the rear window of her SUV.

The woman is being checked for injuries.

The crash happened during moderate snowfall as some roads and highways in the area were reported snow covered and slick.
