GREENFIELD -

Three men were injured in a head-on crash on the south side of Greenfield late Wednesday.

The crash happened around 11 p.m. on State Road 9 at Chapman Drive on the south side of Greenfield.

Police say a northbound Chevy sedan driven by 26-year-old Jeffery Franklin of Greenfield collided with a southbound Mazda sedan driven by 18-year-old Dillon Woods of Ft. Wayne.

Christopher Ryan, 21, Greenfield was a passenger in Woods' Mazda.

All three men were transported to IU Health-Methodist Hospital - two by air ambulance.

Franklin is listed in critical condition and undergoing surgery, according to Greenfield Police.

Woods and Ryan are listed in serious condition.

Police say they found a bag of marijuana in the car Franklin was driving and are still investigating the crash.  Police say marijuana use could be a contributing factor in the crash.

Both drivers were asked to submit to blood tests due to the severity of the crash.  Results of those tests are pending.

State Road 9 reopened at approximately 2:00 a.m. Thursday.
