INDIANAPOLIS -

Police are looking for a third suspect who fled from the area of a fatal shooting scene on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

The shooting happened around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday at the Falcon Creek Apartments near 43rd Street and Moller Road. A 19-year-old woman, whom police have not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say a 19-year-old man was also shot in the leg at Falcon Creek and taken to the hospital.

Homicide detectives are questioning two of three men who led officers on a 14-mile chase from the area of the shootings to the southwest side.

The three suspects were in a car matching a description provided to police from the shooting scene.  A Clermont officer spotted the car at 38th and High School Road and attempted to stop the car, but the vehicle fled.

Police pursued the car south on Interstate 465 to Rockville Road. Two men jumped from the car in a neighborhood near Morris and Vanceburg Drive, between High School and Girls School Roads.

The driver abandoned the white Buick after crashing between two houses on Vanceburg.

The two passengers who jumped out were taken into custody several blocks away, after police found them hiding under a porch.

The driver was able to elude K9 officers and the IMPD helicopter in the area and is still at large.

Detectives are trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and chase, and whether they are connected.

Police say possible evidence was thrown from the white Buick and later recovered.

The shooting is the third fatal shooting in the past two nights in Indianapolis.
