GREENCASTLE -

A crash involving two semi-trailers bottled up westbound traffic on Interstate 70 in Putnam County.  The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. near the 37 mile marker just west of the exit for State Road 243.  Police were able to divert traffic at the exit ramp for State Road 243 to the bridge over the crash scene, then back onto I-70, just past the crash site.

A passenger vehicle was also involved.  Authorities termed injuries at the scene as "minor."

Wreckers were called to bring the trailers upright and a good deal of debris spilled onto the roadway.

Westbound traffic was also able to divert at U.S. 231 and use U.S. 40 as an alternate route to avoid the bottleneck at Exit 37.
