Justus Stanback scored 15 points to lead IUPUI to a dominating 88-53 win over Indiana-Northwest Tuesday evening.
The Jaguars (1-3) had five players in double figures as they jumped to an early lead and pulled ahead 43-17 at the half. Their bench contributed 51 points.
Their defense continually stymied Indiana-Northwest (2-4), limiting them to just 16-of-66 shooting from the floor for 24.2%. That was the lowest percentage by an IUPUI opponent in the program's Division I era, which began in 1998. No Indiana-Northwest player scored in double figures.
Mitch Patton, who had 10 points, opened the scoring with a layup. Patton's jump shot and free throw with 13:28 remaining in the first period stretched the lead to 17-5.
Indiana-Northwest, an NAIA school, could never close the gap.
Khufu Najee, Ian Chiles and Ja'Rob McCallum each had 11 points for the Jaguars.
