Notre Dame signed two forwards Wednesday, the first day prep basketball players could officially sign national letters-of-intent.
The Fighting Irish added Bonzie Colson Jr. of New Bedford, Mass., and Martin Geben, a Lithuanian who plays at St. Maria Goretti High School in Hagerstown, Md. Coach Mike Brey said he expects both to become key contributors next season.
The 6-foot-6, 200-pound Colson is the son of a former Rhode Island player who coached at George Washington and Boston College. He averaged 17 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.5 blocked shots for St. Andrews School in Barrington, R.I.
The 6-9, 230-pound Geben averaged 17 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks per game as a junior.
