A clothing bank that has helped outfit needy Evansville students for years is short of funds and seeking help this year.
The Evansville Courier & Press reports more than 460 students have sought assistance from the clothing bank in 37 days. Barry Jones says the bank is on pace to help more than 2,000 youths this year and the need continues to grow. That's up from about 600 students six or seven years ago.
The clothing bank also is accepting donations from local organizations. Marylu Sonntag says First Presbyterian Church and Evansville's Duplicate Bridge Club both participate and have collected more than 1,500 bras in two years.
Donations can be sent to the Evansville Area Council PTA at Washington Middle School, 1801 Washington Ave., Evansville, Ind. 47714.
