Updated:

A Pike County woman is dead and her former boyfriend is accused of her murder.

This happened in Winslow, with the couple's three year old daughter in the home at 104 South Bluff Street. Officers were called to the house at about 11 last night on reports of a domestic disturbance and shots fired.

They found the suspect, Christopher Morton in the kitchen with a gun in one hand and a beer in the other.

Police used a taser on Morton when he refused to drop the gun. They were then able to arrest him without incident.

Officers found Kelsie McDonald in the living. She had been shot. Medics administered CPR and transported her to Jasper Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Morton was arrested for murder and taken to the Pike County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
