INDIANAPOLIS -

A new medical center opens its doors on the west side Monday morning.  Eskenazi Health West will offer medical care to patients with or without medical insurance.

On West 38th Street near Moller Road, Eskenazi Health West is the health system's first new primary care center built under the new name.

The 70,000 square-foot health center will offer comprehensive care through a range of services including prenatal care, primary care for all ages, health and wellness programs, radiology.

There is an urgent care center, dental unit and pharmacy in this building as well.

Mardiana Roberson brought her five children Saturday to tour the new health center. Roberson has health care through her employer, but believes this new facility has a lot to offer, "Having something in our community will probably help out a lot of people."

"We want to provide a facility that is going to be pleasing to people," said Dr. Ken Klotz. "There is a lot of natural lighting. By being in the facility, it is very healing as well the care that is being provided."

The rehabilitation center on the second floor offers physical, occupational and speech therapy for kids and adults.

They expect to treat nearly 100 people a day.

Parking at Eskenazi Health West on 38th Street is always free.  The doors opened to the public at 8:00 a.m.
