BLOOMINGTON, IN -

UPDATE:  IU Bloomington Police have two suspects in connection to an early morning stabbing.

Police took Zesen Shen, 18, and Kaiyu Lao, 21, into custody at Tulip Tree Apartments shortly after 8 a.m. and arrested both after questioning them about the stabbing. Officers believe Shen and Lao were involved in a fight in the parking lot of the apartments that began around 3:30 a.m

The fight resulted in a 20-year-old IU student suffering a knife wound. He was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Indiana University is no longer on alert. Police lifted the alert around 7:30 a.m.

IU Bloomington Police had been searching for suspects in an early morning stabbing at Tulip Tree Apartments on campus - and were telling students to stay inside until they got an "All Clear".

Officials say it is important to note that this incident stemmed from the fight.

"It is not a case where we have an armed individual or individuals roaming campus looking for people to hurt." Said Mark Land, IU Official.

Indiana University started sending out alerts about an armed individual on campus around 4 a.m. Sunday.

Parents of students attending IU received automated phone calls about the situation.

This message was posted on IU's twitter account:

ALERT: Armed individual at large on campus. Take shelter in nearest room, lock the door, avoid windows. Stay inside until we give all clear.

Students on the campus told Eyewitness news that there is police activity around the campus.
