It was supposed to be among the top contenders for the Oscars next year. But it probably won't. Not that George Clooney's World War II drama "The Monuments Men" isn't any good - it's that it won't be released until after the fall awards season is over. Sony Pictures says the movie will be released in the first quarter of next year, instead of December 18. The film could still compete for awards next year. But movies released early in the same year that awards are given out are usually not considered when nominations roll around.
