INDIANAPOLIS -

Nearly two dozen police vehicles were involved in a 20-mile pursuit through busy downtown streets late Wednesday morning. It ended with the arrested of 27-year-old Jamey R. Keener of Branchville, Indiana.

The chase involved city and state police as well as deputies with the United States Marshal's Service.

It started with a traffic stop near State Road 37 and Epler on Sept. 30th. Police say Keener fled from the trooper and is the same suspect who fled officers and was subsequently later arrested.

It's believed Keener was driving a stolen 2011 GMC 1500 Crew Cab pick-up truck. He was spotted again Wednesday.

The pursuit covered more than 20 miles on I-465 from the northeast side of Indianapolis to the Mann Road exit on the south side. Keener continued to flee on city streets until he struck a curb in the area of 5500 Capitol Avenue.

When he struck the curb, a tire blew out after which Keener abandoned the truck and fled on foot until he was captured by a city police and state police officer.

Keener was arrested for vehicle theft and resisting law enforcement. He was placed under arrest and taken to the Arrestee Processing Center in Marion County.
