The wife of former Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White says her husband's attorney never prepared her to testify at his voter fraud trial.

Michelle White took the stand Monday in a Hamilton County courtroom in the third day of testimony on her husband's request to have his convictions thrown out.

Charlie White was sentenced to a year of home detention and was removed from office in February 2012 after a jury convicted him of voter fraud and other felony charges. The case stemmed from his use of his ex-wife's home in Fishers as his voting address in 2010 while serving on the Indianapolis suburb's town council and running for secretary of state.

White alleges attorney Carl Brizzi provided incompetent counsel by failing to call any witnesses.

Meantime, White testified Monday that attorney Carl Brizzi complained regularly that he couldn't sleep. He said Brizzi appeared "worn down" by the end of the trial.

Brizzi testified last week that White was unpredictable and that having him testify would have been a disaster.
