Police have identified the bodies of a couple found on October 19, 2013 under a bridge near W. Pennington Road in Vigo County.
The Vigo County coroner's office identified the woman as Cynthia J. Davis, 58, of Terre Haute, and Nevelland A. Thompson. Police say Thompson and Davis were in a relationship at the time of their deaths.
Davis' death was ruled by the coroner to be a homicide by strangulation. Her family reported her missing on Oct. 16th to the Terre Haute Police Department.
Thompson was reported missing to the Terre Haute Police Department on Oct. 12. He was last seen on the 10th. The cause and manner of his death are still pending. According to police, there were no physical injuries consistent with causing his death.
Toxicology results are pending on both Davis and Thompson and could take two to four weeks.
At this point, police don't believe a third party was responsible for the deaths.
