Prosecutors have charged a Martinsville man with murder in the shooting death of his son.
According to Morgan County Sheriff Robert Downey, 49-year-old David Carrender and his son Wyatt got into an argument. Carrender allegedly got a handgun and shot his son several times.
Sheriff's deputies were called to 6615 Crooked Creek Drive at 8:25 p.m. after a 911 call.
The son's girlfriend and the suspect's girlfriend were in the home at the time of the shooting and investigators believe the son's girlfriend witnessed the shooting that happened in Wyatt's room.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. David Carrender was taken into custody immediately.
Carrender is being held at the Morgan County Jail. No other people in the house were injured, according to police.
