Purdue's pre-game Breakfast Club slowly fading out

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -

A staple of home football games known as the Breakfast Club could be losing steam at Purdue University.

Students still dress in outlandish costumes and hit the bars early on game days. But local business owners say the tradition is tamer than in past years.

There are still plenty of signs of intoxication. But manager Jose Fogleman of Jake's Roadhouse tells the Journal & Courier that he's seen fewer students fighting and a smaller police presence than in previous years.

Visitor Robert McGraw of West Point says the antics at a recent game provided the "best free show in town."
