A group of retirees from a Kokomo company that has produced metal alloys used in the Statue of Liberty and engines for the Apollo missions is working to set the record straight about the firm's products.
The Haynes International retirees have spent the last two years crafting a narrative for the company's story and sorting through records donated by the company.
Retiree Mike Rothman tells the Kokomo Tribune that many people confuse the company with the underwear maker of a similar name and aren't aware of Haynes' importance over the past century.
The group produced a 21-page history of Haynes for the company's 100th birthday celebration last year and hopes to write a book about the company next.
