INDIANAPOLIS -

Several people were injured in a crash near downtown Monday morning.

Police say the driver of a van involved in a crash around 11 a.m. was ejected from the vehicle. A car struck the side of the van at the intersection of Ohio Street and College Avenue east of downtown. Three or four other people were also injured at the scene.

Preliminary reports from police at the scene were that several pedestrians were injured in the crash. Police later clarified that report to say there were no pedestrians struck, but the injured were occupants in the vehicles that were involved.

All patients have been taken to Wishard Hospital to be checked out for injuries. None of the injuries are believed to be serious. The driver who was ejected was alert and talking to emergency crews at the scene.
