Indiana State University has approved a 2 percent across-the-board pay raise this year for staff and faculty who meet performance expectations.
The school's board of trustees approved the pay increases during Friday's meeting. The raises will be effective Nov. 1 for employees in good standing who were hired before June 30.
The Tribune-Star reports support staff must have a good performance rating to receive the increase. Faculty members are undergoing a separate performance review.
ISU President Dan Bradley says that despite the school's continuing financial challenges, "improving compensation is an important part of our efforts to recruit and retain great employees."
