WEST LAFAYETTE -

Purdue receivers B.J. Knauf and Jordan Woods have posted bond and been released after being arrested for theft Monday.

Knauf is a starting receiver who has nine receptions for 95 yards and rushed 11 times for 92 yards and one TD this season. Woods is a redshirt freshman who has not caught a pass.

Lafayette police were called to a Kohl's department store at about 5:30 p.m. after the two allegedly stole two tie bars, valued at $20 each.

The school issued a statement Tuesday saying coach Darrell Hazell was aware of the arrests and would wait for the legal process to play out before determining any punishment.

Both men are listed as redshirt freshmen wide receivers on the Boilermaker football team. Knauf is from Winter Haven, Florida and Woods is from Ypsilanti, Michigan.

"Hazell takes such matters seriously and respects that there is an ongoing legal process that he will allow to evolve before determining any possible internal disciplinary action," said Purdue Associate Athletics Director for Communication Tom Schott in a statement.
