Notre Dame linebackers Jaylon Smith and Jarrett Grace say they don't feel pressure following in the footsteps of former Fighting Irish standout Manti Te'o.
But they both face comparisons with the San Diego Chargers rookie. The 6-3, 233-pound Smith because he is the highest rated recruit at Notre Dame since Te'o. He is starting as a freshman, just like Te'o did.
The 6-3, 253-pound Grace is trying to replace Te'o at middle linebacker. He was in the mix in that position early this season, started the last game against Michigan State and leads the 22nd-ranked Irish (3-1) with 28 tackles.
Both say they are not worrying about comparisons.
The Irish will be counting on the pair when they host No. 14 Oklahoma (3-0) on Saturday.
