NASHVILLE, IN -
A high school soccer player remains hospitalized in Indianapolis nearly a month after he was overcome by heat during a team practice.
Fifteen-year-old Brown County High School player Jacob Quackenbush is in fair condition at Riley Hospital for Children.
School spokeswoman Carrie Jackson tells The Herald-Times of Bloomington
that Jacob's mother reported doctors were working to treat damage caused by a severe elevation of his body temperature. Jacob collapsed August 21st during practice at the school about 15 miles east of Bloomington.
Temperatures reached about 90 degrees that day with high humidity.
School groups have sold "Quackstrong" T-shirts and held a bake sale to support Jacob's family.
