It's official: Seattle has the loudest fans in the world.
They just set a new Guinness World Record as their team defeated the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football.
The old record of 131.76 decibels was actually broken twice during the game--the first, when 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was sacked in the second quarter. But then, it was broken again at 136.6 decibels after running back Marshawn Lynch scored a fourth-quarter touchdown.
That's as loud as a jet engine from 100-feet away, and doctors say sound that loud can cause permanent hearing damage.
