Katie Douglas will return to the Indiana Fever's lineup in time for the home finale Friday night.
Douglas has not played in a game since the Fever's home opener May 31. She was diagnosed with a bulging disc in her back in early June and just received clearance to return to action this week.
She averaged 17.5 points in the two games she's played in this season.
To make room for Douglas on the roster, the Fever released second-year forward Jessica Breland. She was signed as a free agent before training camp and remained on the team as a replacement players. League rules required her to be released once Douglas was activated.
Four Fever players have missed extended time due to injury this season. Nine different players - including each of the team's top seven scorers from last season have missed games.
Indiana plays the New York Liberty Friday night at 7:00 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
