Colts' offensive line shows promise, problems in Week 1

INDIANAPOLIS -

Indianapolis' top offseason priority was rebuilding the offensive line.

The opening-day reviews were mixed.

Yes, the Colts ran the ball more effectively in Sunday's 21-17 victory over Oakland. They rushed for 127 yards and averaged 4.9 yards per carry.

But Andrew Luck was sacked four times and knocked to the ground on a handful of other occasions - the very thing Indy was trying to prevent with its offseason overhaul.

Coach Chuck Pagano noted Monday that there were plenty of things to clean up before a Week 2 contest with Miami. The linemen agree.

They insist their play has improved over the last few weeks and that things should continue to get better as the season progresses.
