INDIANPOLIS, INDIANA -

Indianapolis Metro Police continue an investigation into a double fatal accident early Saturday morning.  Crews were dispatched to the area of 56th Street and College Avenue about 3:45 a.m.

When officers arrived they found two deceased individuals, one a male and the other a female.  Officials at the scene told Eyewitness News that two cars and a motorcycle were involved in the accident.  Investigators confirm that the two deceased individuals were the driver and passenger of the involved motorcycle.

Investigators believe that the motorcycle was heading south on College Ave. when a white Mitsubishi heading east on E. 56th St. drove into the oncoming path of the motorcycle causing the motorcyclist to strike the vehicle. After the initial collision, a gray Chrysler believed to be heading north on College Ave. struck the female passenger from the motorcycle pinning her underneath the vehicle. Both passengers on the motorcycle were unfortunately killed.

The drivers of the white Mitsubishi or the gray Chrysler have not yet been released. An uninjured passenger was inside the gray Chrysler at the time of collision and is cooperating with investigators.

Investigators do suspect alcohol is involved with at least one of the vehicle's drivers, and have transported both to Wishard Memorial Hospital for blood draws. Investigators do not believe that speed was factor at this point in time.

College Avenue between 55th and 56th Street was closed for several hours.  The names of the victims have not been released.
