INDIANAPOLIS -

Police say a man fled from a truck that he crashed into a home on the west side of Indianapolis Wednesday night.

The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. in the 400 block of South Luett Avenue. The truck left a hole in the side of the house and a bedroom and damaged the stone exterior of the residence.

The residents of the home were in an unaffected portion of the house at the time of the crash and were shaken, but unhurt.

Witnesses told police the man driving the truck fled the scene after the crash, running south from the home where the crash occurred. Police were only able to get a vague description of the driver.

Investigators say the truck had an expired registration and are looking for the registered owner in an attempt to identify the driver.

Firefighters say there is no danger that the structure would collapse because of the crash. The truck was pulled from the home by a wrecker.
