Operation Football Week #2 is shaping up to turn into Operation How to Survive the Heat.
Daytime temperatures for Friday, August 30 are forecast to reach well into the 90s making for hot, humid and potentially dangerous conditions for thousands of Indiana high school football players.
Local athletic directors tell Eyewitness News they are closely monitoring the athletes working under stifling conditions at practices this week. Schools will also take heat precautions Friday night.
This week Dave Calabro takes Operation Football to Fishers where the battle for bragging rights in Hamilton County will go down between Hamilton Southeastern and the Fishers Tigers. Calabro reports live starting at 5:00 P.M.
HSE is coming off a victory over Avon while Fishers is looking to bounce back from a 27-24 loss to Noblesville. Both schools are ranked in the top ten in 6A.
Calabro's Skylight stops will include a trip to Carmel where the Greyhounds host Kentucky powerhouse Louisville Trinity. Carmel squeaked by the Tech Titans 6-2 in their season opener.
From there, Calabro hops on board Chopper 13 and makes his way to another big showdown in Hamilton County, the battle between Sheridan and Hamilton Heights.
Both teams were ranked number one in the respective classes (Sheridan #1 in 1A and Hamilton Heights #1 in 3A) but both lost in their season openers. The Blackhawks went down to Western Boone 34-13 and the Huskies lost to rival Tipton 28-7.
Eyewitness Sports reporter Eric Yutzy has the flank to the south where he reports live from Center Grove HS. The Trojans host cross-county rival Whiteland.
Center Grove, ranked in the top five in 6A, defeated Warren Central 21-10 in Week 1. Whiteland is off to a good start, too. The Warriors beat South Bend Riley 47-32.

We're looking for videos from high school football games - either student-produced or from adults. You can email us your video at firstname.lastname@example.org with "Operation Football" in the subject line. Or if it's easier, just post to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with #OPFB as your hashtag.
Videos should be short. Fifteen seconds is the Instagram max. You can go longer on Facebook but try to keep it at about a minute. Videos could be of great plays on the field, or a cheering crowd…or something else related to your school's game.
We might choose your video for Operation Football Overtime, a webcast that streams live on WTHR.com at 11:35 pm every Friday night! We'll also post it to WTHR.com after it airs.
