INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Marc Marquez had the fastest practice lap Friday in the Indianapolis Grand Prix.
The MotoGP points leader covered the 2.621-mile, 16-turn course in 1 minute, 39.502 seconds. Two-time Indy winner Dani Pedrosa was second in 1:39.582. The two Spaniards both compete for Repsol Honda.
Germany's Stefan Bradl was third at 1:39.681. He competes with LCR Honda and set a track record by going 209.1 mph in the speed trap.
Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday for the Sunday race.
Friday's practice was marred by one big crash when Karel Abraham of the Czech Republic fell off his bike, and it ran into him. Abraham returned for the day's second practice session.
