Hoosiers head into season amid big expectations

Updated:
BLOOMINGTON -

Indiana coach Kevin Wilson thinks his team is still trying to earn a little respect.

Yes, some of the pundits think the Hoosiers can - finally - make a bowl game with six or seven wins.

That's not good enough for Wilson, who used to compete for national championships when he was running Oklahoma's offense.

It's not far-fetched. The Hoosiers had a strong second half last season despite playing without injured quarterback Tre Roberson, and this year, they have eight home games.

With Roberson healthy, and his replacements Cam Coffman and Nate Sudfeld both back, Wilson doesn't want his team selling itself short.

What will it take? A stouter defense than the one that yielded 163 points over the final three games.
