Police have identified the victim in an early morning shooting as 41-year-old Malcolm Graham of Indianapolis.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department police were dispatched to 30th and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard just before 3:00 a.m. for the report of a person shot.
Officials say the shooting took place outside the Fountain Lounge at 816 W. 30th Street.
When officers arrived they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS workers arrived and pronounced the victim dead.
Police say very little information is known, other than an unidentified male was last seen fleeing west on West 30th Street immediately following the shooting.
Rev. Charles Harrison of Barnes United Methodist Church, says the 10 Point Coalition and local IMPD have been working together to keep neighborhoods quiet but that's just not enough.
"The nightclubs have become a problem now. The nightclubs need more security on the outside of them. IMPD and 10 point cannot provide security for the nightclubs," Harrison said.
