The good news: a stolen van carrying equipment belonging to A Flock of Seagulls has been recovered. The not-so-good news: the vehicle was empty.
The rental van had been carrying $70,000 worth of equipment belonging to the 1980s band.
The stolen gear included stage costumes, guitars, drums, a keyboard and computer hard drives holding songs for frontman Mike Score's first solo album.
Score believes the thieves may have followed the group from a weekend gig to a motel where they spent Saturday night. Hotel video recorded the theft, but no arrests have been made.
