Families will be able to go camping at the state's Covered Bridge Retreat in western Indiana during two upcoming weeks without normal restrictions.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says anyone will be able to reserve an individual campsite Aug. 2-7 during "Family Camp Week" and will be allowed to bring horses Sept. 13-18 during "Equine Family Camp Week."
Ordinarily, the campground is restricted to group camping and the entire campground must be reserved. But during those two weeks, anyone will be able to camp at the retreat about 30 miles northeast of Terre Haute.
The campground has four miles of trails, and 12 of its 21 sites are equipped with electricity.
Sites are available from $13 to $31 a night. A two-night reservation is required.
