One Indiana resident ill from listeria-tainted cheese

Updated:

One of five people sickened by a outbreak of listeria linked to cheese is from Indiana.

Eyewitness News first reported last week that the CDC is investigating several types of cheeses made by Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese Company and sold at Whole Foods grocery stores nationwide.

The CDC says people in Indiana, Illinois and Ohio became sick enough to be hospitalized. Two people in Minnesota fell ill and one of them died.

Also, one illness in a pregnant woman resulted in a miscarriage.

Listeria is particularly dangerous for pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
