Rescued animals finding new homes in Indiana

ANDERSON -

Dozens of malnourished animals rescued from a farm in central Indiana are finding new homes.

The Indianapolis Star reports a 15-year-old mini-mare named Brownie was one of the animals that were rescued. Brownie weighed only 95 pounds when she was found in April at a farm belonging to a Summitville couple. Authorities who raided the farm also found piles of animal carcasses.

Daniel and Carrie Ault each face more than 100 charges, including cruelty to animals and improper disposal of dead animals. They also face neglect charges after police found their two children living in part of a barn that had been converted into a dwelling.
