State Troopers using trucks in construction zones

Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

If you are out on the roads this weekend, State Police remind you to be sure to slow down, especially in construction zones, because you may not realize who is watching.

ISP is deploying a number of undercover vehicles, including white pickup trucks, to make traffic stops. You'll notice these pickup trucks over the July 4th weekend and beyond.

The idea is to make drivers think twice when they enter work zones and hopefully get them to slow down.

Police are also using unmarked Mustangs in the area as well as marked cruisers.

And beyond the safety issue in work zones, there's a serious penalty for speeding - a $300 ticket.

Combine that with court fees, and you could be looking at nearly $500 if you're stopped.
