IndyGo announces holiday service changes

Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

IndyGo buses will run on a Sunday schedule for Independence Day this Thursday.

In addition to the altered schedule, events downtown will affect the bus schedule on the holiday. The "Firecracker 6" race will close bus stops on Capitol, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, College and Central from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. Passengers are advised to use Indiana Avenue at Capitol Avenue for service downtown.

Thursday night, the fireworks display downtown will interrupt service to bus stops on Ohio, Meridian, Pennsylvania and Delaware Streets from 6 p.m. until approximately 11 p.m. Downtown service will be routed to Capitol Avenue at Market Street.

Administrative offices and the customer service call center will be closed. Regular service hours will resume on Friday, July 5.

IndyGo officials are also reminding passengers that the street closures will result in detours and may result in some delays.
