IMPD investigating three fatal shootings in less than 24 hours

INDIANAPOLIS -

Metro homicide detectives are investigating their third fatal shooting in less than 24 hours Tuesday morning.

Detectives are telling Eyewitness News a man was found shot to death in the parking lot of the Pleasant Spring Apartments off Pleasant Run Parkway, north of Raymond, on the south side.

Police were called at 11:45 p.m. Monday night to the 1000 block of Henslow Lane at the back of the complex on a report of an unconscious person.  They found a man lying face down between a car and a pickup truck, fatally shot.

Crime technicians were called in to gather evidence.

Police have not identified the dead man or named a suspect in the shooting, which is the third killing in a string of shootings that started Monday morning when another man was shot in an apartment parking lot on the west side. 

The second in the string of three fatal shootings Monday occurred near 38th and Layman just after 7:00 p.m. Monday night.
