INDIANAPOLIS -

Madison Ross is coming home Tuesday. The Fishers girl got sick while on vacation and doctors say she can only leave by an air ambulance.

The family's insurance would not pay for the $30,000 transport and the family could not cover the cost. That's where Grace on Wings stepped in.

Grace on Wings co-owner Tammy Blank tells Eyewitness News that Madison's parents have raised the near $10,000 necessary for fuel costs to get a medical transport to bring their sick daughter home from Naples,Florida.

Blank says the family has raised about $8,500 dollars so far, with donations coming from Indiana, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida.

Heartland Ambulance that operates in Muncie and Northern Indiana has agreed to waive the cost for a ground ambulance to take Madison to Riley Children's Hospital.

Grace on Wings is planning to fly to Naples on Tuesday and have Madison back to Indianapolis Tuesday afternoon.

Maddie got sick three days into her vacation. She was born with spina bifida and has cerebral palsy, and came down with pneumonia and a bacterial infection.

Grace on Wings provides medical transports for patients all across the country. It's owned by Blank and her husband Hal, who is the pilot.

"Without everybody, we could not have gotten Maddie home," said Paula Strauss, Madison's mom. "I didn't know where we were going to get the money for the transport because normally it's between $25,000 and $35,000."

Blank says donations have also been coming in here in Indianapolis to help the family.

Strauss is grateful for the response from the community.

"The people that have donated - oh, my gosh! I can't believe within 48 hours we had the money to get her back home."

Madison arrives in Indianapolis on Tuesday afternoon.

Grace on Wings is a registered charitable organization. You can make a donation here.
