Indiana Fever star Tamika Catchings will miss Saturday's game due to a lower back strain.
The Fever play the Chicago Sky Saturday and will have five other Fever players sidelined, including 4 regulars and one rookie.
Saturday's game is the first regular season playoff game Catchings has missed since 2011, when she sat out due to a knee sprain. Catchings status for future games is unsure, and she will be listed as day-to-day. The following week the Fever have games against Atlanta (June 25), Tulsa (June 28) and Seattle (June 30).
The All-Star and Olympic gold medalist has been durable through most of the past 11 active seasons. Since the start of the 2009 season, Catchings has started and played in 141 of 142 regular season games and in all 29 Fever playoff games. In fact, in 2012 she was the WNBA's only player to start in every regular season and postseason game, all while playing every game of the Olympic tournament.
